There are an estimated 450,000 deafblind people in the UK, and this is expected to increase to 610,000 by 2035. By funding research, providing practical and emotional support, and spreading awareness of dual sensory loss, we want to ensure nobody has to face deafblindness alone.

Deafblindness is a deeply personal experience and affects everyone in different ways. For many people, feelings of shock, anxiety, stress, or loss of identity or self-worth can be incredibly common. Communication difficulties can often make people feel very isolated and cut off from the world around them. Everyday activities, such as shopping, or catching up with friends, can become physically challenging and difficult, leaving people feeling overwhelmed or exhausted.

We believe everyone living with deafblindness deserves to receive the personalised and specialised services they need to help them thrive at every stage of life. To achieve this, we: - Work with the wider community to improve the care, support, and information available for deafblind people. - Spread awareness of dual sensory loss and educate local, national, and international communities. - Support the use of technology for deafblind people and those that support them.
