Funds for fun activities and peer support for young carers aged 5-18 in Bath & North East Somerset. From summer camps to museum days, music and wellbeing sessions, we help local children and young people take a break from their caring role and simply be young people.

In Bath & North East Somerset, over 1,000 young carers aged 5-18 juggle school and life alongside caring for a family member. Many miss out on ordinary childhood experiences - days out, hobbies, friendships - because caring takes priority. Isolated from peers who don't understand their situation, they risk poorer wellbeing, missed opportunities and a childhood often defined by responsibility rather than fun.
We want to fund a varied programme of activities and peer-support for young carers aged 5-18, including our Barton residential summer camp, 'be an archaeologist' days at the Roman Baths, a music programme with Bath Philharmonic, or a Frankenstein escape room – among many others! These experiences give young carers a much-needed break from caring, the chance to try new things, and time with peers who understand their situation - building friendships, confidence and resilience.
