Today 12 young people heard the words “you have cancer”. Every day, 12 more young people will hear those same words. Your support would help us be there for every young person who needs us after treatment, inspiring them to believe in a brighter future through sailing and outdoor adventures.

Finishing cancer treatment doesn’t mean life goes back to normal. For young people, it can leave lifelong physical and mental scars, body image struggles, disrupted education, barriers to work, and challenges forming relationships. Young people living beyond cancer experience 36% higher anxiety than their peers - even six years after treatment. Half received no support to connect with others. They feel alone, misunderstood, and defined by their diagnosis.
When treatment ends, the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust’s work begins. Young people who need us can experience a transformative four- or five-day adventure from one of our bases on the Isle of Wight, in Largs in Scotland, or at an outdoor adventure centre across the UK. They arrive as individuals but leave as part of a community. Whether one trip helps them move forward or more are needed, support is available to build independence, belonging, and improve their mental wellbeing.
