Young people are growing up in a world that can feel increasingly overwhelming, lonely and uncertain. In the UK, around 1 in 5 children and young people are estimated to have a probable mental health condition. With access to support increasingly limited due to funding cuts and cost-of-living pressures, too many are missing out on experiences that build confidence, resilience, social skills and belonging. We are providing the foundations they need to thrive now and in the future.
Brathay Trust provides funded, transformative experiences in the outdoors and within local communities, helping young people feel like their best selves and thrive. We support young people across the UK facing challenges such as low self-esteem, social isolation, anxiety, financial pressures, or not in education, employment or training (NEET). Through our programmes, they develop the life skills, confidence and connections needed to build brighter futures.
