Every child deserves the best start in life. We train volunteers who support families that are struggling with everyday life. Within the charity we also have our Baby Steps Project that supports care experienced parents and parents-to-be, aged 16-25 who are now having their own children.

Home-Start Herefordshire offers befriending support along with practical and emotional advice in the homes of families who are having difficulties managing parenting for a variety of different reasons. We visit families with children aged 0-18 who may be experiencing abuse, financial worries, divorce/separation, isolation, neurodivergence or getting children ready to start their school journey.

We carefully match volunteers to families needing support, ensuring that the support is tailored to the family’s specific needs. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, each with a few hours available weekly to provide emotional and practical help to local families. This support is flexible and responsive, ensuring that families get the help they need when they need it.
