We are a front-line charity providing direct 1:1 and group support to 750+ women a year living with breast cancer in the West Midlands. We help people throughout their entire ordeal, from diagnosis to remission, and provide practical, immediate assistance to help them cope with problems they face. These challenges include chemo/radio therapy & loss of body hair/breast(s), inability to work results in reliance on benefits, family separation due to increased pressures & poor mental health.
We deliver multiple 121 and group based solutions including: - Breast Mates Online. Our private Facebook group gives peer support to 670 members. - Breast Mates Offline. 1:1 support at our community hub, over the phone or via email. - LFBC Choir. 40 ladies attend this socially inclusive weekly activity at The MAC. - Weekly ‘Coffee, Cake & Chat’ mornings at venues across the WM. - Hugs in a Bag sent to women going into chemo/radio therapy for the first time in any of 18 local hospitals
