Broxtowe Women’s Project is celebrating 25 years by expanding support for children, young people, women and families affected by domestic abuse. Our target is to raise £14,976 to fund 18 extra weekly outreach hours, helping us meet growing demand and provide vital frontline support.

An estimated 3.8 million people experienced DA in England and Wales in the year ending March 2025, including 2.2 million women. Despite violence against women and girls being declared a national emergency, the sector receives just 1.8% of UK trust and foundation grants. DA has long-term impacts on mental health, wellbeing and financial stability. Demand for our support in Broxtowe continues to exceed capacity, leaving vulnerable women and children waiting for specialist help.
We provide holistic, trauma-informed support, advice and advocacy to women and children affected by domestic abuse, helping families rebuild safe, independent lives. Alongside long-term support, we deliver early intervention and community awareness work to help prevent abuse. As the only domestic abuse charity with White Ribbon Accreditation, we have supported major organisations across Nottinghamshire to achieve accreditation and drive culture change. After 25 years, demand continues to grow.
