Women are significantly more likely to be murdered by a partner or ex than by a stranger and home is often the most dangerous place. Misogyny is rising and violence against women has reached epidemic levels. This is a national emergency and a national disgrace, and every woman deserves to be safe.

An estimated 2 million women and 2.5 million children in England experienced domestic abuse in the last year. Women’s Aid works to change attitudes and the law so that domestic abuse is no longer tolerated. This means confronting misogyny at its roots and challenging the harmful norms that allow violence against women and girls to persist. We strive for prevention, accountability, and lasting cultural change. No one should have to live in a world where abuse is treated as inevitable.
As a federation of 185 member organisations delivering over 300 lifesaving services, Women’s Aid is a leading voice in the sector. Using our collective strength, we advocate nationally for survivors and drive the structural and systemic change needed to keep women safe. Grounded in high-quality research, we shape policy, influence good practice, and work to address the root causes of abuse. Through prevention work with young people we are building a generation that recognises and rejects abuse.
