We are raising funds to provide very low cost counselling (LCC) specifically for BAME, peri-natal and low income women (earning below £25,000). Mental health problems and poverty go together, so we aim to help vulnerable women improve their mental health by providing very low cost counselling.

The cost of living crisis is causing additional stress and anxiety for low income women. Long term counselling is unaffordable for most women except the highly paid, as most counselling in London costs £70-£100 a session minimum. The costs of living crisis, which hits women the hardest, has now made counselling even less affordable to low income women. Without support, mental health difficulties often worsen, affecting relationships, parenting, employment and long term well being.
We would like to provide 156, very low cost counselling sessions to peri-natal, low income (under £25,000 p.a.) and BAME women who suffered during the pandemic and are now being affected by the cost of living crisis. We charge between £30-£45 for counselling and with this funding we would be able to offer women low cost counselling sessions for £10. We have the capacity and trust to provide this service, as we have been providing counselling and wellbeing support for women for nearly 40 years.
