Havering Women’s Aid aims to provide counselling for children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. Specialist support is rarely available through statutory services, leaving many without help. Early counselling is vital to process trauma, build resilience, and improve wellbeing.

Children and young people affected by domestic abuse often experience trauma, anxiety, and disrupted development, yet access to specialist support is limited. Without early intervention, these impacts can persist into adulthood. We are addressing the lack of accessible, trauma-informed counselling to help them process experiences, feel safe, and rebuild emotional wellbeing and resilience.

Havering Women’s Aid will provide specialist, trauma-informed counselling for children and young people affected by domestic abuse. Through safe, consistent sessions, we will help them process experiences, regulate emotions, and rebuild confidence. Alongside this, we will support caregivers to strengthen relationships, creating a stable environment that promotes long-term recovery and resilience.
