Anawim’s ethos has always been, and will continue to be, that any woman can come to us for any reason. We have grown consistently for the past four decades and now work with more than two thousand women every year. They often face multiple simultaneous challenges including mental health issues, domestic abuse, substance misuse, criminal justice involvement, and housing instability, alongside the long-term effects of trauma.

We will work with women in a gender and trauma responsive way, holistically, and dependent on their circumstances. Many will come to us through our open access drop-in or helpline; others will have long-term caseworker support. Anawim might be the first place a woman feels listened to, simply somewhere she can access food or toiletries, or a route to safety. Our staff have impacted tens of thousands of women over the last 40 years, and we would love to continue being able to do so.
