Sexual violence devastates lives, yet survivors in Argyll & Bute face a double burden: trauma and isolation. Spread across one of Scotland's largest and most rural regions, many women and girls have no local support, no easy transport links, and no one to turn to. Demand for our services is rising while funding falls short. Without intervention, survivors are left to cope alone. We are the only specialist rape crisis service in this region, and the need has never been greater.
Our 4 centres across Argyll & Bute provide free, confidential, trauma-informed support to survivors of sexual violence, wherever they live. Our specialist workers offer one-to-one counselling, advocacy, and helpline support, reaching women and girls in even the most isolated communities. By keeping all 4 centres open and fully staffed, we ensure no survivor has to face recovery alone, regardless of where they live or how far from help they are.
