Conflict disproportionately impacts women and girls. An estimated 676 million women and girls live within 50km of deadly conflict (UN Women), where violence, displacement and economic collapse are most acute. In these settings, women face heightened risks of poverty, gender‑based violence and exclusion, while losing access to education, healthcare, livelihoods and decision‑making. These systemic inequalities leave women bearing the heaviest and longest‑lasting consequences of conflict.

Women for Women International provides lifesaving support when crises strike and equips women with the support, skills and resources they need to rebuild their lives after conflict. Since 1993, we have supported over 675,544 women and girls in conflict affected countries. Through our programmes, women form strong peer networks, gain income earning skills, learn to save, improve their health and wellbeing and learn how to defend their rights.
