Tender aims to prevent abuse and violence in the lives of young people. This is an implicitly gendered issue, with 72% of victims being female (ONS, 2025). Our approach empowers young people with the skills and knowledge to recognise unhealthy relationships, nurture healthy ones, and seek support.

Domestic abuse and sexual violence are inexcusably common in the lives of young women. With 16–24-year-olds at the highest risk of experiencing domestic abuse (ONS). Misogyny in schools is rising with over half of girls aged 11 to 18 (58%) saying they had experienced male pupils making toxic comments (Girlguiding, 2025). Despite this EVAW’s 2024 coalition found that 46% of people surveyed do not trust schools (very much or at all) to tackle sexual offences that occur on the premises.
Tender is one of few UK organisations focused on the prevention of domestic abuse amongst young people. Through providing projects for students of all genders, we ensure everyone is accountable and empowered to prevent violence against women and girls. We use drama, art and media to provide a safe space where they “rehearse” for life and explore their rights and responsibilities in relationships. As well as training adults in their lives to understand how this issue manifests for young people.
