Violence against women and girls is widespread in the UK. 1 in 4 women experience domestic abuse, and many face sexual violence each year. In London, demand for support is rising, yet services and safe accommodation are overstretched. Solace supported 17,264 adults and children in its frontline services last year, showing the scale of need. Survivors, often with children, face fear, trauma and added barriers linked to ethnicity, disability, immigration status and poverty.

Solace delivers specialist, trauma-informed support across London. We provide safe refuge for women and children fleeing abuse, specialist advocacy to help women navigate the police, courts and housing systems, and tailored support for Black and minoritised women. We also offer counselling, recovery support, and services for children, alongside prevention work in schools and communities, supporting women from crisis to safety and independence.
