Every day, lives are cut short and futures stolen. Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and young adults under 40, with only 13% of adults surviving over five years from diagnosis. Research into brain tumours is woefully underfunded, receiving only 3.2% of UK cancer research funding. As a result, treatments haven’t significantly changed in the past 40 years. There are limited options, life-long side-effects and heartbreakingly low survival rates. This has to change.
Together, we’re changing the story for everyone facing a brain tumour. We’re funding research into kinder, more effective treatments and helping people access more clinical trials. Our symptom awareness campaign, ‘Better Safe Than Tumour’, has reached millions, and last year we provided free counselling to 850 people. But we can’t do it without you.
