ECCAN has expanded into a citywide network linking communities, ideas, & climate action efforts. This campaign will support our growth, increase engagement, promote awareness of community-driven climate solutions, & empower disadvantaged communities to influence & lead Edinburgh’s path to net-zero.

Climate change affects communities across Edinburgh with rising costs, poor air, & extreme weather, hitting disadvantaged communities hardest. Climate action feels disconnected from daily life, despite many wanting to help. ECCAN connects more than 1,300 people & 250 groups to grassroots projects, amplifying voices. Yet, demand exceeds capacity, risking unequal engagement & leaving the vulnerable behind. The campaign urges inclusive community climate infrastructure so everyone can participate.
ECCAN connects, resources, & amplifies community-led climate initiatives through networks, funding via our community partner fund, & by supporting ideas, confidence & providing expertise. We link grassroots efforts to policy, ensuring community voices influence systems. Funds support organisational growth—improving communication, engaging marginalised groups, building staff capacities, & developing sustainable systems. Our approach is building deeper, equitable engagement across the city.
