Extreme water poverty - the lack of a safe source of clean, fresh water for drinking, cooking, agriculture or medicine. Children and families can walk miles to fetch water from unprotected wells and springs, contaminated by insects and often shared with animals, spreading diseases such as typhoid fever, cholera, dysentery and diarrheal illnesses.

No More Durty Water works in partnership with local charities such as Watercause Africa and The Road From Karachi to build sources of clean water. These organisations are able to identify communities in water poverty and have access to the engineering expertise and materials to build low cost, reliable protected springs, rainwater harvesters and water pumps. They also provide training on the maintenance of the project and water, sanitation and health (WaSH) education to the affected communities.
