Our focus is making sure local children have the nourishment and energy they need to enjoy their summer schemes to the fullest. 1,500 local children will take part in play, sport, creativity, and friendship; we want every single one of them to start each day with a healthy breakfast/snacks/lunches.

In 2023 the Department of Education ended the School Holiday Food Grant. N.I is the only region that does not provide financial support to parents/organisations during holiday periods to support children on free school meals/low income families. We support local households/families that are experiencing increasing financial pressure due to rising living costs, insecure work and limited access to fair financial support. Many people are surviving on incomes that do not meet their basic needs.

We work closely with Schools, Youth and Sporting groups to make sure that children attending summer activities receive nutritious food alongside summer activities. Last summer, 1,500 children and young people received healthy breakfasts/snacks and lunches through our partnership network, ensuring no child went hungry while taking part in summer programmes. Families and parents are also supported with the additional costs associated that come when children are off school.
