We are raising funds to expand holistic mental health support at our community wellbeing hub. We want to offer more free counselling sessions, support groups, yoga and movement sessions, wellbeing walks and cold dips & sauna and cold plunge sessions to improve the wellbeing of our whole community.

Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Caerphilly and Newport contain some of the most deprived areas in Wales and with some of the highest rates of poor mental health and suicide, intergenerational poverty and limited access to preventative, community services. In Gwent, suicide rates have risen by 20% in the last year. Statutory mental-health provision is overstretched, and waiting times for support can be over a year. It is critical for our local communities to have accessible support to thrive again.
Tidy Butt exists to meet this acute community need, offering vital, life-saving mental health support and community connection. Our authentic, peer-focused support is led by people who understand and share the unique challenges faced by people living in our local area. Through our community hub we offer free counselling, men’s, women’s and LGBT+ support circles, yoga sessions, wellbeing walks and cold dips, wellbeing workshops, nutritious food and a welcoming environment in our Grounded cafe.
