Our CJS is filled with some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. On release, over half don’t have a proper home to go to, the overwhelming majority have no employment and many have substance misuse problems. Most young offenders are vulnerable young people in complex, challenging life circumstances. 90% of young offenders have been excluded from school and half have been in care. No wonder that over half of adult and young offenders re-offend within a year.

We deliver theatre and film productions with professional and (ex)prisoner actors and stage managers, performed in prisons, theatres, young offender institutions and schools. We run creative youth programmes in acting, film-making and spoken word with young offenders and those at risk of offending. We offer in prison theatre courses and post-prison creative training, placements and employment. Participants young and adult gain the skills, motivation and resolve needed to re-write their futures.
