Young People Matter will provide wellbeing support and access to healthy meals for children in Lambeth during school holidays and after school. Using food as a tool for connection and care, we help children feel supported, improve mental health, and thrive despite financial hardship.

We are working towards tackling holiday and after-school hunger and wellbeing for children in Lambeth. Many families face rising costs, meaning children miss out on healthy meals outside term time. Food insecurity affects physical health, concentration and mental wellbeing. We provide weekly nutritious meals, with children involved in preparation, alongside wellbeing workshops that support confidence, mental health and aspirations. It something that we have seen the benefits of, in the past.
Our team will run weekly food and wellbeing sessions for children during school holidays and after school. We will provide nutritious, healthy meals and create a safe, welcoming space where children can eat, connect and feel supported. Children will take part in food preparation and learning activities, while our wellbeing workshops will build confidence, resilience, positive mental health and future aspirations.
