At least 30 people sleep rough in Canterbury every night. During 2025, more than 500 people experiencing homelessness or insecure housing came to our Day Centre for support. People who are homeless struggle to access essential facilities (e.g. food and hygiene), and to access the right support. This makes it hard for people to find housing, stay healthy, and engage with the services and systems needed to end homelessness or to prevent homelessness in the first place.

Catching Lives is the only day centre in East Kent, opening 7 days a week to provide a safe, accessible space for people aged 18+ experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. We offer essential facilities (e.g. food, showers, laundry) alongside tailored one-to-one support, an activities programme and multi-agency drop-ins. By meeting immediate needs and providing consistent support, we help people to achieve positive changes, for example in their housing, health and social connection.
