Children with Dravet Syndrome experience hundreds of severe seizures, often without warning and frequently during sleep. Without monitors, parents must maintain 24/7 physical vigilance—an unsustainable burden leading to dangerous exhaustion. Many seizures are silent, giving no visible warning before a child stops breathing. These life-saving monitors aren't available on the NHS, yet cost £500-£1,500—unaffordable for families where typically one parent cannot work due to caring responsibilities.
We provide seizure monitors to every family that joins us, choosing from four types based on individual need: Nightwatch+, MedPage, Video, or Pulse Oximeter monitors. Families apply through our online portal after registering with medically confirmed diagnosis. We've operated this programme since 2009, providing hundreds of monitors. We also run a repair/replacement scheme ensuring families never lose this vital safety net if monitors break.
