Right now, too many children in London are suffering: 2 in 5 live in poverty, 1 in 3 are unhappy, and 1 in 5 have a diagnosed mental disorder. Alarming numbers are facing compounding adversities such as Adverse Childhood Experiences, isolation, discrimination and behavioural challenges without help. Left unaddressed, these can seriously harm children’s development, health, education and future prospects, setting the course for their life before they’ve reached secondary school.

As the only London charity delivering volunteer mentoring for children aged 8-11, we intervene at this crucial early age because it's proven to protect children and improve their outcomes. We pair children with a volunteer mentor for twelve months of trauma-informed, child-led mentoring sessions. Our programme ensure weekly adult support; time outside, exploring their city; and fun, new experiences, and is proven to improve children’s mental health, confidence, happiness and resilience long-term
