Our criminal justice system is broken. Our mission is for Restorative Justice (RJ) to be at the heart of a fair and effective justice system. It is proven to support victims cope/recover from crime, reduce reoffending, and is cost effective. Victims have the right to be told about RJ under the Victims Code, yet only 5% recall being informed. If people don't know about RJ then they are not able to access it. Why me? is working to change this through innovative communications and outreach work.
Why me? has a well established track record of undertaking innovative communications (short films, animations, podcasts, billboard campaigns etc) and outreach work to raise awareness of RJ and break down barriers. We have a team of lived experience ambassadors, who are passionate about telling their stories of how RJ transformed their lives. Together, we work with victims organisations and criminal justice agencies to increase their knowledge and confidence in RJ, how it works & how it can help.
