Year 7 is a breaking point for many young people. In Kensington and Chelsea, school exclusion rates are the highest in London, and excluded pupils are three times more likely to experience long-term harm. Youth violence peaks between 3 and 7pm, exactly when many pupils are unsupervised. Without early support at this transition, disengagement can escalate rapidly into exclusion, risk, and lasting damage.
The Harrow Club delivers On Track, a 39-week after school programme designed with local schools for pupils showing early signs of disengagement. Young people receive mentoring, creative and physical activities, a hot meal, and safe transport home. By providing trusted adults and structure during the highest-risk hours, we keep young people safe, connected, and in school.
