Sunny Cycles enables people of all ages abilities and backgrounds to participate in cycling, and to experience the mental and physical benefits of cycling. We teach adults and children to ride bikes and we have a fleet of adapted bikes so that people with disabilities can participate in cycling too.

Many people do not have access to bikes, or are not able to ride them confidently. People do not use bikes and choose vehicles such as cars and buses, meaning they are increasing pollution in the city and becoming obese and overweight due to being stationary. Problems with mental health, long term health conditions are on the increase in adults, and parents are setting a bad example to their children. People do not cycle because they are scared to go on the roads with dangerous cars.
We enable people access to bikes and we teach them to ride, get them confident on bikes, and encourage them to keep cycling. These are social activities which reduce isolation in older people and refugees, and help people struggling with their mental health to have improved wellbeing. We show people where the cycle paths are and how they can keep cycling, and use their bike for active travel, as a means of exercise, for recreational purposes and with family and friends.
