A staggering £2bn* surplus goods is generated by UK businesses each year, essential items like nappies, bedding and warm clothing. An unfortunate but natural cycle of business resulting from unsold goods, discontinued lines and branding changes. Yet 14.5 million UK people are locked in poverty. Behind each number is a real person: A mum trying to keep her baby clean; A dad struggling to afford school uniforms; A child wanting to feel the same as everyone else. * University of Leicester
Our solution is simple: we save tonnes of business surplus goods from landfill, basic human essentials like shampoo, warm clothing and bedding. Through our efficient online presence (givingworld.org.uk), each year we reach over 600,000 people in need across the UK, including children, young people, vulnerable families, and homeless people, often making a life changing difference. With the support of our donors and partners, we bring kindness, compassion and care when it’s most needed.
