OSH supports young people with refugee backgrounds to build communities, become leaders, and flourish into adulthood in the place they call home. You can help us run a residential trip this summer for 100 young people based in and around London to strengthen their identity, community & leadership.

18,517 children made asylum applications in the UK in 2023, 3,861 (21%) of whom came with no family. They bring with them immense resilience, hope, and aspirations for a fresh start in the UK. However, they face profound inequities shaped by systemic and societal barriers. This includes a hostile legal and media environment, language barriers, and living off just £7 a day while being banned from working. By age 16, such young people are, on average, over 3 years behind British-born peers.
Led by young people, for young people, Our Second Home is a peer-powered youth movement supporting refugees and asylum seekers aged 14-18 to thrive. We create a transformative environment where displaced young people can unlock their potential and build bright futures in the UK through residential programmes, youth clubs, leadership training, and one-to-one support. Since 2018, we have supported over 750 young people originally from 52 countries, and are ready to do more!
