Our everyday trees—the ones lining our streets and growing in our gardens and parks—play a vital role in our lives. They provide a wide range of environmental, social, and economic benefits. However, tree canopy cover is unevenly distributed across communities, meaning these benefits are not equally enjoyed by all. This imbalance is known as green inequity.

To achieve green equity, we must inform and empower those involved in planting and managing our urban trees. We will create and disseminate resources to further our understanding of green equity, learning from international experience and adapting solutions to the UK context.
