Operation Noah views climate change as the foremost issue facing humanity today. The devastating impacts of climate change are all around us. For the world to limit global heating to 1.5°C and avoid the worst impacts of the climate crisis, greenhouse gas emissions must be nearly halved by 2030. This will involve a rapid reduction in fossil fuel emissions and scale up of nature-based solutions that remove carbon from the atmosphere. Yet funding to secure this transition is woefully inadequate.

Our campaign encourages and equips churches to use their assets and authority to clearly signal to wider society the need to take stronger action to address climate change. Churches and their associated institutions control substantial wealth, worth tens of billions of pounds. Major denominations are also significant national landowners, with the largest four owning 1% of the country. Our campaign leverages both their assets into climate solutions, and their moral voices to call for action.
