The UK must restore at least 30% of land to nature by 2030 and time is running out. To do this at scale, we need more sustainable methods. Enter our grazing heroes: cows, sheep, goats, pigs, ponies and bison. Handpicked for their unique abilities to restore habitats & create incredible biodiversity.

In the recent past, conservation has been time-intensive and costly, requiring human and machine intervention to manage habitats. Time is running out to restore and protect natural habitats in Kent. If we are to achieve our target of protecting 30% of nature by 2030, we need to scale up our efforts. Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT) has acquired new land in Kent and is working with other landowners to restore land to nature.

As the impacts of the climate & nature crises are felt across Kent, we’re investing in conservation grazing to help naturally restore and protect more land. Using animals, like cows, sheep, ponies, goats, pigs and bison who graze, root and furrow, helps to create a mosaic of habitats and increase the diversity and number of species - reducing (or eliminating) the need for human intervention. We have c.800 animals grazing in Kent, but need funding to expand our operation to new sites this year.
