To tackle the climate and biodiversity crises, we need a flourishing ocean, and that means more whales and dolphins, not fewer. But instead, they die in fishing gear in polluted UK seas, and the minke whales in our waters could face an agonising death on the end of a harpoon if they travel north to Norway. We need clean, safe seas where whales and dolphins can thrive. Because they deserve it and because our future depends on it.
From the highest political levels to the smallest coastal communities, we’ll work to make sure whales and dolphins thrive again in a safe, healthy ocean. We’ll create a wave of change that will end Norwegian whaling. We’ll reduce the amount of ‘ghost’ fishing gear adrift in UK seas, and we’ll support community volunteers to gather essential data that will inform UK conservation decisions. We will protect whales and dolphins, for their sake and for ours, because ocean action is climate action.
