Set up following the tragic murder of Ben Kinsella, our mission is to prevent knife crime through education and campaigning. We believe in prevention as a response to violence; offering workshops for young people, training for parents & practitioners, and safety campaigns to keep young people safe.

Knife crime levels across the UK have increased; with London specifically seeing knife crime rising 64% in 10 years. Shockingly, young people are twice as likely to be murdered with a knife compared to any other age group. Young people tell us that their peers carry a knife “for protection”, but 70% of young people in A&E with stab injuries have been stabbed with their own knife. We are seeing a vicious circle, where young people decide to carry a knife for protection and then end up in trouble.

We deliver knife crime prevention workshops from our immersive and powerful exhibition, based in Ben’s hometown – Islington. Our workshops help young people to understand that carrying a knife does not increase safety, and gives them greater recognition of how positive choices can keep themselves and others safe. We also recognise that young people cannot be kept safe in isolation: we train parents, teachers and frontline professionals, building protective networks around those most at risk.
