Before arriving at KEVI, our residents face homelessness and multiple layers of disadvantage. We recognize that homelessness rarely occurs in isolation; it often intersects with other challenges like poor mental or physical health, job loss, disability, isolation, and family breakdown. With sky-high rents and a severe shortage of social housing in Saffron Walden, there has been a rapid rise in homelessness. We are working tirelessly to house/support our most vulnerable community members.

KEVI has a deep understanding of the complex issues of homelessness and its impact on every aspect of a person’s life. We manage 47 homes for 57 people, providing affordable homes alongside person-centred support for residents, including healthcare, social services, and benefit entitlements. Through resident-led social gatherings/activities, residents are empowered to shape their community, building confidence, belonging, and stability, enabling residents to rebuild their lives and thrive.
