Families Together Suffolk supports around 700 Suffolk families a year, with many accessing our free home-visiting support. Our regular 1-2-1 support helps us reach overwhelmed and vulnerable parents, helping them to develop local networks, manage challenges, reduce isolation and improve resilience.

Suffolk has pockets of severe deprivation, with areas in Stowmarket and Ipswich being within the 10% most deprived in England, while areas in Bury St Edmunds are within the 20% most deprived (IMD 2025). Families in areas of deprivation therefore face increased financial pressures, stress and poor mental health. With a cost of living crisis and a reduction in local services, access to free, in-person support to improve well-being and community connections is therefore more vital than ever.

Families Together Suffolk is driven by the needs of local families and our service is delivered to reach those families most in need. Through the expert local knowledge of our Coordinators and volunteers, our free home-visiting supports families to face challenges and find solutions without judgement. We help parents develop local support networks, access necessary services and give their children the best start in life. All support is tailored but tends to be bi-monthly, for around 6 months.
