We want to sustain our monthly Sussex Green Hub in Horsham, a vital community resource helping people take practical action on climate change. Each year, 1,800+ residents repair, reuse and recycle, saving £9,240, preventing 561kg of waste and cutting 12.8 tonnes of CO₂. Protect the planet, together!

The Hub supports people living in and around Horsham, including those in nearby rural communities where the cost of living, transport barriers, and access to services make sustainable living harder. Horsham has an ageing population and some of the least affordable housing in West Sussex. in our last survey 70% of people said they want to reduce their environmental impact, 49% want more knowledge but 44% believe their individual action won't make a difference. But we know collective action works!
Each month around 150 local people come to the Hub to repair and reuse household items, access affordable refills, recycle hard-to-process materials, and get practical advice on saving energy and reducing waste. For many, it’s the only place locally where they can do all of this in one welcoming, accessible space. We bring people together, tackle local inequalities, save them money, cut waste, and build confidence that everyone can take small but meaningful steps towards a sustainable Sussex.
