The Colne Valley Park is nationally important for wildlife and provides access to 110km2 of green space to 10 million people who live within 15km. It is being reduced in huge bites by development and landscape quality is declining. We aim to restore and protect it to benefit future generations.

We are one of the most pressured parts of London’s Green Belt, under severe threat due to infrastructure development. The Colne Valley is at the epicentre of this problem, with proposals currently for: • More than a dozen data centres • Motorway services • Warehousing • Tens of thousands of houses • Huge film studios and many other speculative developments All sandwiched between two of Europe’s biggest civil engineering projects: HS2 and Heathrow Airport expansion. With no masterplan.

We will coordinate advocacy for our regional park to persuade government and decision-makers to act to protect our special landscape, by creating a Corridor for Life. To implement policy to safeguard it for future generations and enable it to realise its full potential for people & wildlife. We will bring positive attention to the Green Belt, mobilising individuals, community groups, charities, as well as local and national politicians in a campaign that is pro-countryside, not anti-development.
