Camp Jojo supports families of children with complex disabilities, many of whom have life-limiting conditions, to enjoy a totally accessible outdoor camping experience and make special memories. We provide all of the specialist equipment and volunteer support needed to make this a reality.

Participating in outdoor activities and camping is very difficult for children with complex disabilities – the equipment, costs and logistics can be overwhelming, meaning many families do not even attempt to plan an adventure together. Therefore they miss out on experiences other families take for granted, increasing the sense of isolation so often felt. At Camp Jojo we are heavily over-subscribed. In 2024 we received over 7 times more applications then places we were able to offer.

Our 3 day camps are fully-inclusive events for 8 families at a time. Support from our large group of volunteers (30 per camp) means that parents and children can be freed up to develop new friendships, make special memories as a family and try things they never thought possible. This summer we are excited to be opening our second Camp Jojo site in Cumbria. This will enable us to support more families each year and to reduce the distance families in the North need to travel to Camp Jojo.
