Keeping good food out of landfill is one of the simplest ways to help tackle the climate crisis. By rescuing surplus food that would otherwise be wasted, and sharing it locally we’re helping to cut carbon emissions and support our community. Your support helps us continue this important work.

Food waste generates up to 7% of the UK’s total greenhouse gas emissions. Nearly a quarter of all food produced in the UK is lost or wasted each year, including 6.4 million tonnes of edible food—enough to feed the UK for nearly three months. This wasted food contributes 18 million tonnes of emissions, worsening the climate crisis and putting pressure on local waste systems.

We address the environmental problem of food waste by rescuing surplus food from local suppliers and redistributing it across communities in Shropshire. Our volunteer powered charity keeps good surplus food in bellies, not bins, thereby cutting carbon emissions, nourishing our community, and building a more climate friendly local food system.
