Glyphosate is a toxic herbicide that harms wildlife, soil life & poses risks to human health. Despite a recent study linking it to multiple cancers, it’s the most widely used agrichemical globally, on farms, parks & gardens. Gardeners often don’t know about good alternatives or wrongly trust that it’s harmless because it’s so widely sold. Glyphosate’s UK licence will be reviewed in late 2026, creating a rare, urgent opportunity for growers to understand the issues & speak up for policy change.

In the run-up to a Government decision in 2026, we will run a campaign to highlight the harms of glyphosate. By working with aligned organisations, we will bring this issue to the attention of the public via a communications campaign. We will support people with actions they can take to directly support the campaign & demonstrate to policy-makers the appetite for change. We will also provide gardeners with simple, practical advice on how to garden without using toxic chemicals.
