Restart exists to move the world away from our throwaway economy - making electronics work for people, for the planet, and for longer. We believe that every product should be repairable, and that repair and reuse should be accessible and affordable for everyone.

From mining to manufacturing to e-waste, our electronics are significant drivers of the climate crisis. Yet despite their hidden impacts, our devices don't last as long as we'd like, creating mountains of waste; the UK is the world’s second biggest producer of electronic waste per person. Most people want to repair more, rather than buying new and adding to the growing waste mountain. But nearly 70% of Brits say it's hard to get products fixed when they break.

We will support the growing number of community repair groups. Through this work and partnerships with local authorities and other partners, we will make repair more available in London and across the UK, and make the case for local repair solutions and policies. We will help the UK community repair movement to win over their MPs, building a movement of repair and reuse champions, bringing their voices to decision makers, and making the case for pro-repair and reuse policies in the UK.
