Our mission is to move low-carbon travel into the heart of live event culture. We unite a community of festivals, sport events, audiences, suppliers, artists & music companies to measure & reduce their travel emissions and mitigate their impact by funding environmental restoration around the world.

Up to 80% of the total carbon footprint of a live event can be caused by audience travel alone. A staggering 23.5million people attended festivals and concerts in the UK, with a further 77.7million attending sporting events in 2024 alone. 1.6million of these audience members came from overseas, with many choosing to fly. The impact on the environment is immense: GHG emissions, poor air quality, habitat disruption: yet there is little coordinated action within the sector to address these impacts.
onboard:earth has been uniting live events to tackle travel emissions since 2015. Alongside providing free tools & resources to measure & reduce travel impacts, we support events to crowdsource donations to mitigate the emissions which can't be reduced. These donations support our expert partners to protect threatened habitats and deliver nature based solutions in the UK and globally. In 2026 we aim to support our live events community to reach £1million raised for climate action.
