By repairing items in our community, Repair Cafes prevent tonnes of waste and carbon emissions that would result from manufacturing new items and disposing of old items. By using our items for longer and of course repairing them when they break, we can slow this process down, reduce our impact on the planet and save ourselves the cost of buying replacement items. Our “pay what you can afford” Repair Cafe model means that repairs are accessible to everyone no matter their household income.

We will use this funding to expand our repair services across our community. We have been offering repairs to our local community for 8 years and know our model works. Our aim is for everyone to have easy access to repairs on their doorstep. We aim to normalise repair over replacing items, which will create a long lasting impact on our environment. By attending a Repair Cafe customers are involved in their repair and often learn new skills, creating a longterm change of mindset.
