Pollinating insects - bees, hoverflies, moths, butterflies, beetles, ants, etc – are vital to our survival. We know they’re in decline, but this is particularly so in urban areas where a lack of quality green space, pollution and increased temperatures prevail. Many city parks are barren green fields - devoid of wildlife and biodiversity – and housing targets have reduced green space, making these parks isolated islands with fragmented wildlife.

We will make more than 20 parks & recreation grounds a haven for pollinating insects. Concentrating on our most densely populated & deprived areas, and in partnership with local volunteers, we will create wildlife ponds and community growing areas, plant natives hedges, trees and orchards, and will run a large range of free and low-cost activities which show how to make a positive impact on nature, monitor wildlife, and an appreciation for nature in others.
