Funding our 2026 Outreach Programme of high-quality, inclusive performances and activities for those less able to access the arts. Working with care home residents, those living with dementia and with learning disabilities to share festival joy, create memories, develop skills and reduce isolation.

Social Isolation & Access Inequality. Ripon has limited provision for professional arts, particularly for those facing additional barriers such as age, disability, cost, or location. Our network of care providers has expressed the need for creative activities to improve the quality of life and the health and wellbeing of their service users. Our beneficiary groups seek opportunities to connect with the wider community, take part in the city’s life, express themselves and to connect with others.
Breaking down barriers to access: Take arts events and activities directly to our beneficiaries’ locations Engage professional artists (eg theatre, dance) with relevant special needs’ expertise Support groups to express themselves through performance and exhibition at our festival Provide activities for free Increasing local capacity to engage with the arts and leaving a legacy of skills development: Develop our networks Train care-workers, parents, volunteers to develop their own arts practice
