Through Hear Me Out’s sessions, people held in immigration detention and asylum centres find connection, support and hope in deeply isolating circumstances. You can help expand this work, uplifting voices of hope and building an empowering community that stands for dignity in the face of hostility.

People in immigration detention and asylum centres are often isolated, silenced and cut off from community. Uncertainty and trauma can strip away identity, confidence and hope. Within the hostile environment in the UK, there are few safe spaces for self-expression or meaningful support, leaving many feeling invisible, unsafe or unsure of where to turn at a time when connection matters most.
Hear Me Out delivers music and creative workshops in immigration detention and asylum centres, helping people feel valued, heard and connected. Sharing their experiences is an act of courage in places that often erase identity. Your support fosters that courage and a sense of hope by funding our workshops as well as our emotional and practical support. When you give to HMO, you stand in solidarity with these individuals and help build a community that supports and uplifts voices of hope.
