The Hullabaloo is based in one of the UKs 1% most deprived wards with social and economic barriers preventing many children being given the best start in life. This limits opportunities to access creative experiences that can support child development and the mental health and wellbeing of parents and caregivers. We believe that creativity is an essential right of every child and that access to these opportunities boosts attachment, play confidence and gives children the best start in life.
Our year-round programme of specialist Theatre and Creative Play combine to offer children and families a high-quality creative experience at low cost or free. Our strong links to local refugee families, young parents and low-income families enables us to offer first time creative opportunities for many children and our extensive independent university-partnered research has built an evidence base for the value of the work in terms of child development and parental mental health and wellbeing.
