Everyone deserves to benefit from the transformative power of music. The OAE brings our community opera, The Fairy Queen: Three Wishes to regions with limited access to arts and culture, collaborating with schools, communities and local musicians to create magical experiences that can change lives.

Many communities across England face major barriers to arts access due to deprivation, limited cultural infrastructure and reduced music education. Families, teachers and young people lack resources, early years provision and progression routes. These inequalities restrict creativity, wellbeing and aspiration and leave many feeling excluded from orchestral music and opera. Cultural confidence is low and creative opportunities are scarce, increasing isolation and limiting engagement.

We address cultural inequality by delivering a collaborative touring community opera project that embeds the OAE within underserved regions. Through schools workshops, SEN programmes, community choirs, teacher training and public performances, we provide low cost, high-quality musical experiences through our reimagining of Purcell, The Fairy Queen with messages about friendship and love. We create long-term local partnerships to ensure impact, progression and sustained access to the arts.
